It All Started with a Dog Named LUCY...Hollie Stewart founded paw Angels, Inc. in 2018. She always had a passion for dogs, but after she had to beg a rescue to save a young pit bull named Lucy, she knew she wanted to help be part of the solution. Since then, she and a hand full of volunteers have been running the rescue and saving as many unwanted and abandoned dogs as possible. Paw Angels Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dog rescue based in Calhoun, GA, serving Gordon and surrounding counties. We help many dogs in need in our community, whether dogs from the shelter, stray in medical need, or certain dogs that need to be re-homed. Our focus is always on the dog and not just trying to find it a home, but a forever home perfect for the dog and the adopter. Our goal is to bring the dogs in our community a better quality of life, whether through rescue or providing resources and education to the community. We are a foster-based rescue and rely on our volunteers and donations to continue to save lives. We are always looking for new fosters to provide a temporary loving home while they wait to find their forever home. We also hold other fundraising events throughout the year to help raise funds for the veterinary and daily living care necessary for the dogs. Our rescue never likes to say no to a dog in need, which means we often end up with high vet bills. Our dogs are vetted, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on shots, and micro-chipped. We require a home check and a two-week trial adoption period before any of our dogs can be adopted. |
