Things we need donated to continue to help within the community:
Medical Resources: If veterinary care for your dog is beyond your budget, we provide support for spaying/neutering, vaccinations, flea and tick treatments, and other preventive services. If we are unable to assist you directly, we can guide you to additional resources. Please reach out to your local city and county animal control for spay and neuter certificates. Additionally, inquire about their low-cost vaccination days throughout the year. My Kids Have Paws Vet also offers affordable spaying/neutering and vaccination services. You can also check with your local Tractor Supply for low-cost vaccinations. City of Calhoun Animal Control
Helpful Tips: If you're considering surrendering your dog because you feel you lack the time, remember that dogs typically sleep for 10 to 14 hours each day. This means they can rest while you’re working. They only require about 30 minutes to 2 hours of active engagement daily, depending on your dog breed. Although this may seem daunting after a long workday, your dog eagerly anticipates spending time with you. Fun activities you can enjoy together include teaching your dog a new trick, playing hide and seek with their favorite toy, enjoying a game of fetch outdoors, or taking a relaxing walk in the park or around your neighborhood. |
